    Gallstone remedy

    Hello,

I believe I am suffering from gallstones (atleast I fit the symptom profile), and was wondering if there is anyone here who has tried the olive oil flush or gallbladder-specialized supplement pills with any success (or failures) ... or if there is any other method that has been tried and worked for anyone here. Thanks!

    - Ben

I can't help you other than to say try every thing if you don't get critically ill, rather than have your gall bladder taken out. The reason I say this is my daughter had gall stones and not knowing any better, we had her gall bladder taken out. That was when she was 16 years old. She is 21 now and has constant stomach problems. She probably has irritable bowel syndrome. Part of her problem is that without a gall bladder, it is necessary to be absolutely regular in your eating habits. Never over indulge in anything. She does not eat a regular 3 meals per day, probably 6 smaller meals per day would be even better. She doesn't do this so she will have serious stomach problems all of her life.

    I agree wholeheartedly with Ben!

I, too, wanted to save my GB but the stone was too large and calcified. There are some chiropractors who specialize in adjustments in conjunction with the flush to help pass the stones. This is especially successful if the stones are small.

I have had nothing but problems since having my GB removed in 93'. Within 3 months of having my GB removed I developed 2 different chronic immune disorders. Contrary to what some MD's might have you believe, we need "all" of our organs. If at all possible, I would do everything to try to save it. Without an organ an imbalance is created in your inner operating system, which has far-reaching effects, not only physically, but in other ways as well. In Chinese medicine, each organ is also related to a particular emotion. The GB is that which processes anger. Without the GB, it is as if anger has no place to go or no way to be adequately processed.

Do as much research as you can before making your decision.

    Best,

    Peregrine

I too had mine out and wish I had researched alternatives better!! They will swear up and down that there's no side-effects....B.S.!!! Everyone I know has had problems with digestion, horrible gas pains and diarrhea. It's not every time you eat, but it makes ya think before eating somewhere else!! LOL Where's the closest bathroom and do I really want to do that in public!! LOL
I've heard of a gallbladder cleanse but have no idea where to find it. Keep lookin', but it you're getting worse, take care of it. Good luck.

wow, i'm really sorry some of you have had such problems after having your gallbladder removed. i had mine out two years ago and have no pain, diarhhea, or any digestive problems to speak of at all since. i'm glad i had mine removed as i had literally several hundred stones and one of them could have blocked the bile duct pretty easily (= big problems), but i understand your reluctance to recommend the surgery when you've had such negative experiences. i hope you find something that works well for you, njben.

njben - Do a web search for Standard Process, and ask
them for an alternative doctor in your area that sells there supplements.
Ask them about Beta food and Beta food ATF. My wife used it when her
gallbladder was acting up many years ago.
And from time to time she'll use it as maintenance.

I just posted mainly because I do know quite a lot about Chinese Medicine and read something earlier that was actually factually incorrect and felt obliged to correct it, namely that the Liver processes anger rather than the gallbladder.
The liver and gallbladder function as a "pair" and are associated with the element Wood.
An imbalance in Wood will often show up as a marked presence (or absence) of anger. Anger is injurious to both the liver and gallbladder.

    Re: Gallstone remedy

I had a gallstone attack August 2000 and I opted for Ursodiol a med that is supposed to dissolve them. One year later I had a Ultra-Sound and they found no decrease in the amount or size of my gallstones, so they took me off of the Ursodiol. I haven't had any attacks after 2000. I have refused gallbladder removal because of the possible side effects, diarrhea in particular. I already suffer from I.B.S., G.E.R.D. and gastritis. I believe these problems will intensify. My gastroenterologists told me that the Ursodiol (a bile acid) is not very effective in most people and it is very expensive.

    Re: Gallstone remedy

You gall bladder problem (if that's what it is) can ABSOLUTELY be fixed. I was in the hospital about two years ago with an acute gall bladder infection. It was VERY severe. I had more intense lengthy pain than I read was possible. Mine lasted for over 18 hours and I was put on demerol so I could cope and sleep (which by the way still wasn't possible due to the extreme pain) I got an ultrasound and was in the hospital the next day scheduled to have the operation just hours later. I was hooked to IV and everything. Then a specialist comes down to see me before the operation...pokes and prods me and tell me I can go home since my pain had subsided for the time being. At the time I was VERY angry and just wanted to have the operation and get it over with. Well it was the best thing that could have ever happened to me.

I went home, did my research, and tried the gall bladder cleanse. it consisted of taking epsom salts, grapefruit, and olive oil. For the next 5 or 6 cleanses I had passed an ungodly amount of stones and have had absolutely NO problems ever since. However after you are totally clean it is a good idea to do a cleanse every 6 month do get rid of any build-up that may occur. PLEASE give this a try...it could save you from a lifetime of digestive problems, and your current pain. Since I can't post links on here I'll cut and paste the recipe for you:

Choose a day like Saturday for the cleanse, since you will be able to rest the next day.

Take no medicines, vitamins or pills that you can do without; they could prevent success.

Eat a no-fat breakfast and lunch such as cooked cereal with fruit, fruit juice, bread and preserves or honey (no butter or milk), baked potato or other vegetables with salt only. This allows the bile to build up and develop pressure in the liver. Higher pressure pushes out more stones.

    2:00 PM.

Do not eat or drink after 2 o'clock. If you break this rule you could feel quite ill later.

Get your Epsom salts ready. Mix 4 tbs. in 3 cups water and pour this into a jar.

[ You can substitute 3 cups water with 3 cups freshly pressed grapefruit juice, or freshly pressed apple juice .]

This makes four servings, 3/4 cup each. Set the jar in the refrigerator to get ice cold (this is for convenience and taste only).

    6:00 PM.

Drink one serving (3/4 cup) of the ice cold Epsom salts. If you did not prepare this ahead of time, do it right now. You may also add 1/8 tsp. vitamin C powdered to improve the taste. You may also drink a few mouthfuls of water afterwards or rinse your mouth. Get the olive and grapefruit out to warm up.

    8:00 PM.

Repeat by drinking another 3/4 cup of Epsom salts. You haven't eaten since two o'clock, but you won't feel hungry. Get your bedtime chores done. The timing is critical for success; don't be more than 10 minutes early or late.

    9:45 PM.

Pour 1/2 cup (measured) olive oil into the pint jar. Squeeze the grapefruit by hand into the measuring cup. Remove pulp with fork. You should have at least 1/2 cup, more (up to 3/4 cup) is best. You may top it up with lemonade. Add this to the olive oil. Close the jar tightly with the lid and shake hard until watery (only fresh grapefruit does this).

Now visit the bathroom one or more times, even it makes you late for your ten o'clock drink. Don't be more than 15 minutes late.

    10:00 PM.

Drink the oil you have mixed. Drinking through a large plastic straw helps it go down easier. Be warned that this mixture WILL NOT tase good, and is hard to stomach, but is worth it in the end. Take it to your bedside if you want, but drink it standing up. Get it down within 5 minutes (fifteen minutes for very elderly or weak persons).

Lie down immediately. You might fail to get stones out if you don't. The sooner you lie down the more stones you will get out. Be ready for bed ahead of time. Don't clean up the kitchen. As soon as the drink is down walk to your bed and lie down flat on your back with your head up high on the pillow. Try to think about what is happening in the liver. Try to keep perfectly still for at least 20 minutes. You may feel a train of stones traveling along the bile ducts like marbles. There is no pain because the bile duct valves are open (thank you Epsom salts!). Go to sleep. You may fail to get stones out if you don't

Next morning. Upon awakening take your third dose of Epsom salts. If you have indigestion or nausea wait unit it is gone before drinking the Epsom salts. You may go back to bed. Don't take this potion before 6:00 AM.

    2 hours later.

Take your fourth (the last) dose of Epsom salts. Drink 3/4 cups of the mixture. You may go back to bed.

After 2 more hours you may eat. Start with fresh fruit juice. Half an hour later eat fruit. One hour later you may eat regular food but keep it light. By supper you should feel recovered.

    How well did you do?

Expect diarrhea in the morning. Use a flashlight to look for gallstones in the toilet with the bowel movement. Look for the green kind since this is proof that they are genuine gallstones, not food residue. Only bile from the liver is pea green. The bowel movement sinks but gallstones float because of the cholesterol inside. Count them all roughly, whether tan or green. You will need to total 2,000 stones before the liver is clean enough to rid you of allergies or bursitis or upper back pains permanently. The first cleanse may rid you of them for a few days, but as the stones from the rear travel forward, they give you the same symptoms again. You may repeat cleanses at two week intervals. Never cleanse when you are ill.

A few more pieces of advice. Don't cleanse more often than every 2 weeks as the epsom salts can screw with your electrolytes if you take it too regularily. Also if you have back pain (personally when I was sick, I felt like I was always lying on a brick) due to gall stones you will likely notice it subsides after several cleanses if not the first. As you may have read all stones that are in the gall bladder come from the liver, so remember it takes a while to completely clean yourself, but when you are clean it feels great. And you didn't have to go under the knife.

Remember.. if the gall bladder DOESN'T MATTER as most doctors will tell you, then why is it there? You may find out very quickly (as I did) that the gall bladder is VERY important. It develops the most potent bile your body produces in order to break down fats etc. So there's no wonder people have digestive problems after they are removed. I have also personally noticed that lots of people that develop gall bladder problems own microwaves, and use them regularily to cook their food. I say this because I know from personal experience I used to get complications when I ate fatty foods, or used the microwave to heat my food, and have heard others say that before also. I haven't used one since, nor have I had problems since. Whether you take my advice on the microwave or not.... they are a very unhealthy, unstable way to process food and it's scary how much they are used by the general public.

Anyway I hope this helps. Good Luck

    Re: Gallstone remedy

    Ben,

I've done a flush twice and gotten yearlong(or longer) relief each time from the colicy waves of BG pain after a high fat breakfast of bacon and eggs with plenty of butter on my toast.

Both times I preceded the flush with a week of apple juice...near a quart a day. This is said to "soften" the stones. Just the apple juice often can get me months of relief.
Anyhoo, I use basically "hope's cure" listed above (Hulda Clark's method.) Last time I decided the next shot (soon) will have a couple changes.
Firstly. I think the timing should be all day rather than overnight. Reason, all that epsom salts will NOT allow you to sleep safely unless you're sleeping in a large kitty litter pan (if you take my meaning)... With the 6 PM dose I was flushing like mad by 8 and had gone potty perhaps 30 times BEFORE the dose of oil/vinegar.

Secondly, it's a bit TOO MUCH epsom salts for me (and I'm 6'2," 220#).

So it will be something like dinnertime of Amish pretzels (ZERO FAT), a 5 AM dose of salts and back to bed for an hour than a 6:30 AM dose....then at 7 AM the oil/grapefruit juice mixture....with a little extra cider vinegar to up the acidity...also calls for extra bile! This is REALLY DELICIOUS by the way....surprise...a litle artificial sweetner if too acid.
Then lie down for some early morning TV (NEAR A TOILET!)....NO SLEEPING AT THIS POINT.

Fishing for stones is fun but not eneryone's cup of tea.
(Last time, I even cured a long-sore shoulder overnight....wonder of wonders.)

I also have 3 very large gallstones. I have not yet done the gallbladder flush. waiting to do a new ultrasound. I do not get pains any more from my gallbladder. I took 'GOLD COIN GRASS" a tincture developed by DR Julia Chang in CAnada [removed] This tincture breaks up gallstones. will confirm the presence or lack of when I get the ultrasound done.
    GOOD Luck

    Re: Gallstone remedy

Being ignorant that I had a gallbladder prob I had surgery. That wasn't bad enough they didn't remove some stones so continued to have probs. After hours of researching homeopathic remedies and emailing with Julia Chang, I started on plant enzymes to help w/ food digestion and Stone Free to soften and break up the stones. I did the stone free in prep for a flush, and I'm tickled to say have had zero recurrence of stone probs since starting the stone free. For immediate relief during an attack a great fix is a Beet Mixture (shredded organic beets mixed with flax seed oil and a little lemon juice ) to move the bile and stone free tablets. Good Luck.

    Question Re: Gallstone remedy

    Ben
    Hello,
I am new so I hope I am doing this correctly. I wanted to respond or ask a question about an earlier post you left 2/2004. Here is a copy/paste from that post:
".....It is not overtly painful, but it is tender .. pain is generated by pressure on that one point. It seems to be right at my lowest rib. And it seems that there I can move what I think is muscle around fairly loosely. There seems to be one tiny palpable lump (hard to find, but right at the point of tenderness, although I found a corresponding lump on the other side of my chest, where it is not tender. The pain seems to be either on the rib of the abdominal muscle that comes right up to that rib...."

I have been having small painful lumps on my side, near my lowest ribs on both sides and some around the same area but more towards my back. The pain is not bad unless I put pressure right on the lump and then it is very tender. First it was one or two lumps, now it is several. This part of your description >>"There seems to be one tiny palpable lump (hard to find, but right at the point of tenderness"<<< This is just how my lumps are. This comes after a long 6 month battle trying to figure out a problem I thought was related to digestion --as if this is the next stage in my illness whatever it is. I live in a rural area and am very limited to health care. I'm only 37 and normally active busy mom, but practically debilitated at times now from this strange condition, which now includes these painful lumps.

So I wondered did you find out what yours were? Please any assistance is greatly appreciated from you or anyone.
    Thank you so very much
    Cindy
