    Help me find a homeopath

Does anyone have suggestings for finding a naturopath or a homeopathic doctor? The second endo that I went to for suspected thyroid issues seemed to be very understanding. I like him a lot and we'll see how it goes from here. However, I am not completely convinced that the diagnosis of hyperthyroidism and the meds that I am taking are going to alleviate the main symptoms I am having: internal tremors all over my body that make me feel like all my movements are shaky and I also have muscle pain and sensation of weakness in my left arm (fine motor skills are difficult). I want to be prepared for an alternative doctor who might be able to help me figure out what's wrong in case it's not really my thyroid, but I haven't been able to find good info on finding a holistic doctor.

You can look online. For Naturopaths, you can try the "American Association of Naturopathic Physicians" online database. Try your state or an adjacent state. There are a number of databases for homeopaths. One of the best (I think) is the "Referrals to Classical Homeopaths." Of course, you can make the job of the practitioner easier if you avoid all artificial sweeteners/foods and notice if certain foods cause you to feel worse. Good luck!

Thanks for the help. This all started after I had a partial hysterectomy in May due to a dermoid cyst and fibroids. I came home feeling shaky in the mornings, and blamed it on some of the meds I was taking (percocet, in particular). Only the shakiness never went away even after I stopped the meds. For more info, see my thread "Internal Tremors" in the Thyroid threads. Unfortunately, I am in a "wait and see if the current treatment for thyroid works" before I move on to something else if it doesn't. Carol

Did they remove an ovary? If so, perhaps taking some estrogen could help.

They only removed one ovary. I have had my FSH level checked to make sure it is still working, and it is. I really don't have any symptoms for estrogen deficiency either. No hot flashes, night sweats, etc. I am just having these dad gum tremors inside all over my body. They have heightened my reflexes so I am very sensitive to sound, light, and touch. Believe me, I am trying to think of anything at all that might be causing this. Female hormones were at the top of my list!

Re: Help me find a homeopath

Since you are in this section of the board, I was wondering if you are taking any ground flax. Some people are sensitive to it and it can cause a suppressed thyroid in some people. I've also had the tremors. I had thyroid cancer in 89' and a parcial hystorectomy 96' and a full hyst. in 97'. I did a homeopathic search and a good site I go to. This is what I found. I'll post it in the advance reply because it is lengthy.
