    What Herbs Thin the Blood
    Need to stop blood thinners prior to surgery. Which of the following are blood thinners? Juice Plus, Multiple vit., bromelain, ginko biloba, broad spectrum enzymes, CoQ10, Fish Oil, Milk Thistle, Zinc, Quercetin, Cod liver oil, Tumeric, NAC, Citrus Pectin, Vit.D, Probiotics, Liver Lovin' formula

    The only one that I know for sure that does is gingko biloba. The bromelain may possibly as well. I don't know about the others you listed, though.

    I know that fish oil is definately a blood thinner.

    You need to talk to your anesthesiologist about this, during your pre-op appointment. They need to know about EVERYTHING that you are taking--and that includes herbal supplements, vitamins, over the counter medications, prescription drugs and street drugs. DO NOT HIDE THIS SORT OF INFORMATION FROM YOUR ANESTHESIOLOGIST--IT COULD COST YOU YOUR LIFE! Most anesthesiologists won't scold you for taking something that they don't think you should be taking... they care much more that you stay safe during your surgery and that your anesthesia is uneventful.
