Going away for a few days

Hi everyone.

This Saturday, I'll be leaving on a journey that will take me 800 miles from home. I'm driving to Oklahoma to visit my sister and then to Missouri to visit a friend of mine.

My sister has lung cancer and she's been wanting me to visit for a while now. She said we need to say the things we need to say to one another before it's too late. This is very hard. She's only 54 years old.

I know this has nothing to do with AD but my sister and I could use your prayers. You and your loved ones are always in mine.

I'll be back a week from today.

Love, Barb

Dear Barb,
We wish you a safe journey. I hope that your visit with your sister brings you peace and acceptance. I hope that you can be level headed when dealing with this traumatic situation.
Hugs from Jo

Re: Going away for a few days

Dear Barb,

I'm glad you now have time for this painful journey. Drive carefully, and when you get to your sister, be strong. Whatever was dividing you two can be put aside now. Don't expect apologies or some clearing away of old hurts. The best way to get rid of them is simple unconditional forgiveness. I pray it all goes well, and I am also hoping your sister's conditions proves NOT to be fatal. Who knows? There are many unexpected remissions and even amazing cures.

Good luck and may God be with you.
