amputee needs advice
 

I am a below the knee left amputee. Have been since May of this year. So am learning as I go,what can I put on my stump to protect it from the harshness of the winter.?? I so far have just used a leg warmer and i know the socks I have won't fit. What can I wear??

Hi great Auntie,

Having ridden Motorcycles in winter I learned ways of staying warm in cold weather.

The obvious is wearing layers of clothing. Long underwear with a pair of scissors and a little sewing could work very well. I would not admit this to my Biker Buddies but wearing panty hose helps keep you warm also. Have you considered getting a winter knit cap for the head and using it on your leg? It will surely fit.
