    Shaky hand and "twitching" thumb

For the past week, I have been getting shakiness and a twitching thumb in my left hand. My left hand also feels weaker than my right (I am right-handed), but that might just be in my head from worrying about it. The scariest thing is my thumb. It's not the muscle twitching inside (I get that in many muscles, e.g., legs, back, stomach, etc, and have always chalked it up to anxiety), but my thumb is actually moving back and forth involuntarily. I can actually see it happening, which is really scary. It is not constant, but only happens for a couple of seconds at a time. I am worried this could be a symptom of ALS or Parkinson's. I am only 35 so I know that either would be very unlikely, but I can't stop thinking about it. Has anyone had this before?
