    Ferric Carboxymaltose infusions

I am a "newbie" here. I was recently diagnosed as anemic after long-term use of a prescription medication that can block iron absorption. (I am no longer on that medication......Zantac.) My iron level was so low that my hematologist recommended two iron infusions of ferric carboxymaltose. I had the first one 3 days ago and had some side effects over the following 48 hours.....some mild nausea and diarrhea and sweating 12 hours later...and some backache 36 hours later. Luckily, those side effects lasted only about an hour each. I will my second infusion at the end of this week and am hoping I don't have any side effects this time. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has had this same type of iron infusion to know their experience with side effects.
