    Ferritin nightmare :(pls help

    Hello guys,

I hope someone can share their experience,or help me.I started feeling very dizzy at my ferritin levels being 28. I started taking feramax pill once a day for 3 months, and I really did not feel any better. My dose was upped to 3 pills of ferrous sulphate a day.I do feel better in terms of my dizziness, but my dizziness is still present, and I am always tired.Anyone had dizziness due to ferritin? At what level did ur dizziness go away? And how long did it take?I am so desperate as it is affecting my day to day activities, and even the simplest tasks

    Thank you

I understand how you feel. My ferritin. Is at 15 currently. I feel lightheaded often and tired all the time. I was recently prescribed iron pills but can't take them until I have a colonoscopy. It is my understanding that ferritin takes time to increase. Maybe give the meds more time to work. I wish you the best. It's really horrible feeling bad all the time.

    Hello,

Thank you for your reply.I was also talking with someone that stated that everyone's body is different, and may absorb the supplements at different rates,so patience indeed is the key. Your ferritin is quite low as well.I do wish you the very best with your tests, and your treatment

Did your doctor give any indication as to why your ferritin is so low? My iron stores are low also so my hematologist is trying to find out if there is any blood loss internally. Kinda scary. Also, do the meds you are taking cause any side effects for you?

Yes,my ferritin is low due to having long(9 days)periods, and they are also heavy. The only side effects of my meds would be dark stools, other than that, nothing else
