Severe skin itch and burning and some rash taking iron

This may be a stretch but I've been taking iron over a year for anemia. The anemia seems to be under control according to my last lab. All normal numbers. I'd like the hemoglobin a bit higher but it's normal.

I'm taking Solgar Gentle Iron 25mg. I take one or two every other day generally. That's not much I know.

But the last few months I've developed burning and itching skin and rash on my back and leg and several other places. I saw the dermatologist who gave me some ointment. Did me no good and I only use it on the rash anyway. I also have a small cold sore that won't seem to go away but it doesn't hurt and isn't big.

Does anyone else have a similar reaction to iron? I know it could be many things and I go back to the dermatologist in the morning and will request blood work.

I could switch to another type of iron but I think this is a good type and it does work.

Thank you in advance. I would appreciate some feedback.
