Folate anaemia - time to get better

Has anyone else had severe folate deficiency symptoms and if so, how long did it take you to get better if so?

Diagnosed a week ago with folate deficiency and resulting anaemia. Have awful nerve pain in hands, feet and all four limbs, joint pain, exhaustion, and painful tightening muscles when I try to do any minor physical activity (latter could be my fibromyalgia coming into play). Also depressed, anxious, irritable and cant focus on anything. Im not sure how much more I can take. My doctor prescribed folic acid tablets and says two months minimum before I notice any improvement.

Is that a normal timescale? Im in so much pain I can barely sit in a chair, walk etc. Quite scared at the moment and two months seems a long time to just wait and see. Any thoughts welcome. B12 came back normal.
