The best predictor of iron here is your Ferritin. It is pretty good and, at this point, I wouldn't go on iron supplementation. The "ideal" number for ferritin is around 70. You are below that but nowhere near iron depletion. At best, I would concentrate on maximizing the iron absorption of your foods, increase foods higher in iron, and/or *maybe* taking a multi-vitamin with a little bit of iron in it. Too much iron can be harmful, but it probably wouldn't hurt you to get your ferritin up to 80-90. Again, though, most doctors would find your current levels just fine.

Now, I'm no expert on B-12 and others on this board are and hopefully will chime in with better info. I think that optimum levels of B-12 are around 600 and the higher the better. While normal, you are on the lower side of normal. I would get some liquid B-12 drops to take orally and work on that.

Did you have any other tests done that would show you are anemic?

No I sure didnt.. Well they did check my RBC which was a 4.60 and Hemoglobins that are 13.8.
So you suggest B-12 drops.. Do they sell this over the counter?
Thank you so much for your help .: )

I am no expert, but I have become quite familiar with low b12, and your number is low. I know that the lab range is still considered acceptable, but newer research suggests that b12's need to be over 400.(according to my dr.) I would get the sublingual b12 if I were you and give it a shot. Your hemoglobin and iron look pretty good. Good luck!
