Can't figure out why I'm anemic
I'm a 28 year old female with anemia, and I'm looking for the underlying cause and treatment.

I've always been borderline anemic, with RBC ranging from 3.8-4.0 and hemoglobin ranging from 11.8-12.8. MCV has always been on the high side of normal (96), indicating that the problem is not microcytic and therefore not iron deficiency.

I've been working with a naturopathic doctor for a suspected thyroid/adrenal issue, and am sure that my nutrition and supplementation have been excellent for at least 6 months. My multivitamin contains a good dose of every vitamin and mineral known to man (well, the good ones, anyway), and I eat a well-balanced diet with lots of fresh vegetables, fruits, proteins, fats, etc. I supplement also with iron and the B vitamins including B12 and folate.

RBC is down to 3.6, hemoglobin 11.6, MCV still 96... and I don't feel well.

Any ideas?

did you get an actual test of B12 levels? maybe you're not absorbing the oral B12 ?
