Need advice on colonoscopy - prep didn't work before

So I struggle with iron-deficiency anemia and have for years. I have been having infusions this last year but now they are tackling the 'why I have anemia' question.

I had an upper endoscopy and was found to have esophogitis and a hiatal hernia. The doctor thought that 'could' be the cause however he wants to do a colonoscopy as well.

Here's the problem, another doctor had me do two colonoscopies (a year apart) about five years ago. The first one was a go-litely cleanse. It was so hard on me, I just kept vomiting it up. Needless to say, it didn't work and one of the nurses was a bit unkind about it. The results were inconclusive. So, I put off another one and finally had it at doctor's urging a year later. They used a different prep. Forget the name but little bottles and it was a bit easier. Still did not get completely clean but the doctor saw more that time and said he thought all was okay.

So now my new doctor says it is time for another one and really wants me to do the go-litely thing again even though it was such an awful experience before.

So, I'm wondering if there are any tips here on how to get this started myself before the prep. Just in case I'm vomiting it all back up (he did prescribe anti-nausea pills this time but I am skeptical), I'd like to get my system 'cleaned out' as much as possible during the week prior.

    Thanks for any help!
