Ferritin <3.4 NG/ML - what does it mean?

I just got these results and have been reading these boards - this number seems very low to me. I am tired and cold and eat ice constantly so I had a blood test. Dr. asked me to take a multi-vitamin and Ferrous gluconate.
After reading these boards I am concerned about this reading - am I over-reacting?
