    anemia & severely sore muscles

For 6 weeks I had severe pain in all my muscles, unable to lift my arms & walk. After learning my hemoglobin was 7 I started on iron 2x day, slowly but surely I am almost back to my old self. I purchased a hemoglobin kit to test @ home to keep an eye on my levels. I was scared to death I had an autoimmune disorder. I have not had blood work to rule out autoimmune disorders because I cannot afford the blood work (500$)...but I'm feeling 95% better on iron. I can't believe low iron levels can cause such debilitating pain. I even had some swelling in my joints. I'm really hoping its due to low iron.. My level was 7 when the muscle pain started.
