Newly Diagnosed Test Results

Hi everyone,

I was recently diagnosed with anemia. I have listed my test results. I don't know if anyone can interpret them to tell me what type of anemia it might be or if its just Iron Deficiency. I am concerned about taking supplements and wondering when doctors usually allow you to do infusions. My GP said I don't need them. I also was tested for celiac disease, but havent gotten the results but I'm not expecting them to light up because I dont eat wheat. Any other GI disorders that can cause this? Is my B really low or is it ok? Any help or suggestions welcomed!

Doctors (read: insurance companies) often will not authorize infusions until you have exhausted other avenues (supplements).

Did the doc say what he suspects? Sometimes anemia is related simply to blood loss (like periods) or diet deficiencies. Diet deficiencies can be related to gastro symptoms (like absorption issues) - but are usually obvious because all the vitamin levels will be off.

Your B vitamins are not bad, and easy peazy to raise. My daily intake of redbull shot mine into the too-high range!

I was getting infusions until my NovaSure, which has helped. Im very happy my iron levels only went from 75 to 39 this time! Yay. I started at ferritin level less then 3! 20 weeks of infusions over 30 weeks and ablation helped me a lot. I can't take the oral stuff, so I was recommended to do infusions.
