    infusions & blood transfusion.

    Hi everyone,

I'm a 43, female with a 20 year history low anemia. The doctors just always said take iron. Never did a thing.
I am considering infusions/blood transfusion. Is there a difference? I am concerned because in the last 10 years I seem to react to everything supplements, all grains, dairy. Tested Celiac negative.
What do infusions contain actually? Anyone have a bad experience.

Curious if anyone with anemia has whooshing or a pulse feeling in their head?
Also my Ferritin goes down when I supplement? Anyone else?

    thanks

Kinda weird that your ferritin is going down when supplementing. The only thing I can think of Is that you have a Gi bleed or irritation that is aggravated by the harsh iron? What does your doc say about that? Maybe get retested for celiac?

I have had whoosing in my head, particularly behind my nose/eyes. I get it if I get up from sitting or am laughing. Its kind of scary and uncomfortable. Do you have it all the time?

No experience with IV here. Just supplementing and trying to be patient. Its a long slow road. I have heavy periods so it feels like a losing battle sometimes. My iron isn't low enough to do IV though.
