Bf's all better, but I'm not

    Ok, kinda a long story,lol.
My bf of 5 years developed guillan-barre syndrome.
He was in the ICU 5 days, and it didn't get to his lungs.
But I just lost it. Sobbing every 15 minutes. I was so scared he was gonna die.
Not only did he NOT die, he recovered so fast, with an amazing attitude. He was in a rehab hospital for a month, then came home without even using a walker.

    But I'm just not good.
I'm not even the one who got sick, but those 5 icu days are stuck in my head.

When he's not in the room, looking at his stuff, and how awful it would be to go though it if he had died is driving me nuts.

I was mentally interesting long before this, but breaking down like that was a 1st. I was in therapy for this, but just a few sessions before my reservist therapist had to take off.

I am trying to expand my circle of friends, and I'm trying to control what I can w/o going overboard, trying to feel more powerful.

we're only in our 40's, and I can't have my life eaten away by this.

So, my question to you is (besides more therapy) is to know if you have any tips or ideas.

    Thanks,
    Aimee

    Dear Aimee,

It helps attitude to be thankful and count (name) your blessings.

Anxiety and fear do not cause cancer or death, so you do need to work on your perception of life.Keep in mind that you already had your issues before boyfriend had a problem, and the problem is over with.

That proves this is your own problem, not his.
You have been working on your issues. This only means you are not done working on your issues.
