    Lexapro day 5

    Hi all,
I'm new here, I'll give you a little background about myself. I have suffered with anxiety since I was 19 yrs old, now 36. I was pretty bad at 19 and that was when I had my first go round with ssri's. They worked pretty well and after a couple years I weened off and was fine for awhile with manageable anxiety here and there. I went back on Zoloft at about 30 yrs old but only for a short period of time. Here I am now at 36. I started a new job that in my mind was going to be a great stepping stone and open up a lot of opportunities in the future. The job ended up being a nightmare, hostile work environment, etc. While searching for a new job I found out my best friend had been diagnosed with breast cancer. The spiral downward began. Anxiety was high but kind of manageable. I was offered a new job and accepted but the anxiety continued to get worse. I went to have a physical before starting my new job and the nurse practitioner I saw was great. I broke down and told her what was going on and she started me on Paxil. Of course the anxiety increased at first but then I began feeling better. I was only on 5mg and after about 6 weeks the anxiety started coming back so I upped the dose to 10mg. Increased anxiety all over again. I went to work one day and was feeling anxious before even going in. Ended up having a major attack and being sent home. Went back to the doctor and we decided to switch to lexapro 5mg. So I stopped Paxil cold turkey and started lexapro. I haven't left my house since. Anxiety is so severe I am scared to shower. Today is day five and my mom finally made me leave my house even though it was just a ride to the store. I have to go back to work tomorrow. I'm terrified. I called out for three days which isn't good since I'm in my probationary period still. I need some good vibes to help get me through tomorrow. Anyone else have an experience like this?

    Re: Lexapro day 5

No, haven't that problem. I'm on Lexapro myself . 5mg is very low dose. Maybe she should raise it up to 10 mg. . I'm on 20mg myself. The 20mg works good for me.
    Good luck on this med.
