    Panic Attacks

What are the symptoms of a panic attack? Can you feel panic attacks coming on, and thereby prevent them?

    Re: Panic Attacks

I think allot of people have different symptoms but for most, its a feeling like your heart is racing, you get nervous, sometimes scared- your body temperature might rise (you get hot), you feel like you want to burst into tears.

People claim they can feel them coming on...when they do, breathing exercises can help make it stop. You would need to talk to a physician or therapist to find out if this is what you are having.

    Re: Panic Attacks

I have periods where my heart races and feels like its beating really hard. I find it hard to swallow and I have an all over feeling of anxiety/fear/dread. I was curious if this was a panic attack. I don't have them often, but periodically. If I'm driving I panic that I'm going to get into a car accident. If I'm at work, it's just a terrifying feeling of fear.

    Re: Panic Attacks

Sounds like a panic attack; but they have to be brought on by something...do you also get upset stomach or diarrhea? Those are both symptoms of anxiety and panic as well. I would discuss this with your general doctor and see what he or she has to say.
