How to not have anxiety after having fibroid surgery though.

I had the fibroid surgery done already. I have anxiety about when the pain from the surgery will go away ya. I don't really like dealing with the pain though. Can some one give me advice on how to have less anxiety after having the surgery though. Thanks.

Are you talking pain or soreness? Those are two different things and you need to determine which it is. If it is pain, you need to go back to the surgeon. If it is soreness, you need to call the surgeon's nurse and ask how much longer you should be sore. You had a lap procedure, I believe, which is usually about 6 weeks. Knowledge of what the recovery period is (total recovery) will calm your concerns.

Ya I think am sore from the fibroid surgery though. I know it will take awhile to go away ya. I still need to take pain medication for it. I think when I can do things like walk around without being in pain then I will be have less anxiety about it. Thanks.

When I had my gallbladder out by lap procedure, I was very sore inside for several weeks. The gallbladder is inside the right ribcage and they pulled in all the way down to my belly button to get it out. So everything along that track was bruised and sore. So, it just takes time. Do try to walk as much as possible as that will help.

Obviously your surgeon didn't give you enough information on the recovery process. He/she is your best source for this information. But since you've never had anesthesia before you may just still have side effects from that as well. I do really well with it so I can't advise you on that. Call his nurse on Monday and have a chat.
