Neck tension - social anxiety

This may sound really bizarre... but does anyone else get a really tight neck that starts to like shake when they're nervous? If I have to get in front of people, my neck gets extremely tight and almost twitches or something. The same thing happens if I try to eat in front of people I don't know. It's very hard to mask and I'm not quite sure how to remedy it. Any help?

Re: Neck tension - social anxiety

learning to relax and calm yourself will help a lot, some valium or a beta blocker before an important event will relax your muscles for a while and should stop it

also rub or massage your neck

Re: Neck tension - social anxiety

Actually it's not so bizarre. Since this anxiety disorder hit, my neck's constantly getting stiff.. I'm always rubbing it and doing head rolls to loosen up the muscles. It seems to happen more when I'm out in public, but it's still stiff when I'm just home alone.
