Unhappy Contant reasurrance

Do you need to be contantly told ( Its just Anxiety )? Im 28 years old and a mother to 3 children and Ive been told I have GAD since 2000. I swear I feel like I live with it EVERYDAY ! I have no idea what causes it and its a 24/7 thing that just lingers . I get tension headaches, lightheaded, vision is blurry, muscle tension and weakness, racing heartbeat, dry mouth, feelings of doom like Im going to die, stomach cramps, and the list goes on.....

my recent symptoms are very weird but Im getting burning sensations in my thighs for a few seconds. Im paraniod cause I have a varicose vein in my leg and now I think I have a blood clot cause of these wierd sensations!

Does this sound like GAD or maybe panic or even both? I know I need meds but Im terrified to take them cause of the side effects and I think Ill die, crazy I know!

Re: Contant reasurrance

Well, You sound like your life is full enough to cause anxiety.

If you have been diagnosed with GAD, what do you do about it? If meds are recommended, you should try them. You don't have to start with an anti-depressant. A simple Benzodiazipam, at a low dose, like Ativan or Xanax, might be enough to take the edge off, and you won't get addicted over the short run. Then you can see if meds help.

See your Dr.. Anxiety is not easy to deal with without something, even if it's only therapy.

to cmsaint
you dont need to know what causes it, valium type meds taken as needed would be a big help and have no nasty side effects, some docs dont like prescribing them and want to give you an antidepressant instead
