just started Lexapro...

to help with the anxiety i have been suffering from due to a new job and relocation. i am in day four and pretty much scraped bottom yesterday. i felt so bad i was visably shaking, sick to my stomach, and the worst thoughts kept filling my head. i barely made it through work and to top it off i slept about 2 hours last night. anxiety was out of control! i have no idea how to get through the day today. DOES THIS GET ANY BETTER?! should i get off of it? My wife is very upset and i am just tired of it all. Does anyone know how long it takes for Lexapro to start working right. Any advice on what i should do and how i can cope until all this passes would be appreciated. many thanks!

Yeah you have to give it some time. 4 days is not enough-as a matter of fact its quite normal to feel like dirt the first week or two. Give it time, let it work. You should stop feeling so bad in another week or so and feel the full effects a couple weeks after that

Lexapro is a good drug

Yes! Please give it more time. I am on my 5th week and for the first 2 weeks I had ups and downs....somedays I felt back to my old self some days I felt worse than before I started the Lexapro. Each persons body is going to react differently. I could not sleep for the first 2 weeks but now I am sleeping like a baby and feeling great. what dose are you on? I am on 10 which I found works best for me in the morning.

I started Lexapro a bit over 2 weeks ago and I am now feeling alot better. They can take a couple weeks to a month or so to work. You could always ask your doctor for a benzo to take as needed until the Lexapro kicks in.
