Unhappy Upped Celexa and now feel more anxious is it normal?

Hi guys i have a question i am on celexa started at 10mg 2 weeks ago and a few days ago i uped it to 20mg, anyway i feel more anxious now than i did while on 10mg, was just wondering if this was normal, i mean the first week the med helped alot with anxiety but now I am feeling overly anxious since yesterday, i have been on 20mg for about 3 days or so, is this normal? i took celexa a long time ago and cant remember if i had this reaction, i figured teh higher the better but i guess i was wrong grr

    Normal? I don't know lol

But! I had exactly the same feeling when I started celexa.. I have recently switched to effexor because the celexa eventually stopped working for me.

I think its just your body adjusting to the amount of a certain chemical that you are recieving. You may feel really hyper and giddy. I had this same side effect. And am 99.9% positive that it was on the health sheet that comes with the perscription .. ie. possible side effects and such.

Hope this helps. Don't worry about it.

Hi and thanks for your help
by the way I am far from normal

anyway I am just not sure why celexa would stop working so soon...however I have heard that it happens when you first start taking it, so i will keep on it since it did work for me in 1999 when i first took it, so hoprfully this side effect will go away, the first week i would forget everything while on celexa but now that has gotten much better but my anxiety is bad again so maybe this will get better too(keeping my fingers crossed)!

I started celexa 2 weeks ago. started at 5 mg and then every 4 days increased to the 20mg i am currentlyon. with every increase i felt more anxiety that lasted for 3 days and then subsided. Try Klonopin, that helped me get used to the celexa
