doing great after 2 months on celexa then...

    Hello everyone!

I have been taking citalopram (generic celexa) for just over two months. Before, I had been miserable with depression and daily panic. I had been taking remeron for almost four months and it was making me worse. Shortly after starting the citalopram, and getting off the remeron,I felt better than ever, got married, and back to work ( had to take two months off I was in such a bad state). It was so great to feel good again and I actually felt happier than ever.
Earlier this week, I had a mild panic attack at work. I usually take .5mg of clonazopam at bedtime but that day I had to take it for the first time durring the day in a long time. Now it seems every other day this week I feel some generalized anxiety, I don't know if I'm just worried about the panic attacks coming back or what. I'm not thinking about it when the anxiety hits, it just comes out of the blue. I should be thankful that they are not full blown panic attacks but I am wondering if that's what I have to look forward to again. I never want to be as bad as I was before. Is this normal? Do I need a higher dosage of my citalopram? Or could this just be a little phase? It's almost like feeling good was too good to be true. I am trying to stay positive and remind myself how good my life is (or can be if I let it). I know I will probably have to fight this for the rest of my life - but I thought I had it completely under control! Any advise from anyone would be great. Is it common to have it come back once in a while, even when the meds are helping??

the normal dose range is 10 to 60 so your dose may need upping, discuss with doc
would help if you also learned some new relaxation, coping and CBT skills

a clonazepam tablet doisolved under the tongue will stop almost any panic attack so carry some tablets with you when out
anxiety should be overcome rather than fought against
