Hard to describe symptoms - anyone else?

I have been having a hard time describing the types of symptoms I am feeling on a regular basis over the past months and even years. I will try my best and see if any of you have similar symptoms:

It often starts with that area at the base of my skull at the back of my neck feeling knotted or tightened up. Then I get this vague burning feeling which usually starts out as a raw or dry feeling in my throat or chest and turns into just this very vague burning from top of head to abdomen. With this, I get a strange feeling in my throat - almost like little pulsations of nausea (or a tickling feeling) in the area of my tonsils. It is a strange feeling, but it makes me feel dry heaving - like its stimulating me to want to vomit, although it has to be very bad before I will go that far.

Its a pretty unsettling feeling that makes it difficult to function or talk even at times. Anyone else struggling with something similar to this? Can it be chalked up to just anxiety and stress? I know stressful days make it worse.

Hey Blackdog. I have some of those symtoms. I get the burning feeling and the tingle in my head. The buringing feeling starts on my face than it will sometimes move down my body to my chest and arms. It feels like I am burning up from the inside out. Talking with my doctor they said that this is a symptom of anxiety. I have been dealing with anxiety for about 6 years now and this feeling is new to me. I have been checked out for everything and nothing has come up...thank that's why they are saying its anxiety. I have been going to a chiropractor and getting adjustments seem to help a little. Just wanted you to know your not alone.

Thanks Jackie, its a horrible feeling and it gets so bad at times it can be impossible to function with work and all. I feel like I get it even when I'm not anxious or stressed which has caused me to spend many visits to specialists and get many tests done, all of which came back negative.
