Post A day in the life of anxiety

I have been suffering from anxiety attacks that are horrible, chest pain, dizzy, can't breath, afraid to leave the house. I am getting treatment but now they are messing with medications that really suck. I went from 40mg of celexa to 150mg of zoloft the 200mg of zoloft. that didn't work so now they are weaning me off and onto effexor, having some issues today really focusing on my breathing and my chest feels tight. I hope everyone else is having a tolerable day.

Cool Re: A day in the life of anxiety

Buspirone, an anti-anxiety med specifically for anxiety worked well for me.

Which 'non-med' approaches have you been using to get a handle on your anxiety issues?

Make sure you are seeing a professional for titration of your meds. I went through a ton of medications before my doc and I were able to get on the right meds. Zoloft and Klonopin work for me. Effexor was a nightmare for me. It gave me a "fight or flight" rush in the middle of the night. I would wake up in a terrible sweat with my heart pounding. Try exercising as well. It will help with the anxiety and give you a good rush. Don't exercise too close to bedtime or it may keep you awake. Hang in there it will get better. You just need to find the right meds. Take a deep breath. Hope this helps.
