    Zoloft 100mg - sleepy/groggy/stinging eyes in morning!

    Hey guys!

So I have had sleep anxiety - which turned into generalized anxiety & depression - since last year. It's been pretty much a nightmare, and I've tried probably half the medications on the market. I'm anxious during the day about sleep (since I have insomnia), so basically I just fear the bed and the idea that "I won't get to sleep." I've tried positive thought re-construction, I go to therapy once a week for it, etc, etc.

ANYWAY, this is my sixth week on Zoloft at 100mg. I've noticed myself feeling less depressed and definitely less anxious, but I still get worked up at night. It takes me no less than an hour each night to get to bed (even if I take klonopin or xanax to help me, if it's really bad). The reason I'm posting though is because I am incredibly groggy in the morning, after sleeping like 11 or 12 hours, and wake up with red stinging eyes. I take my zoloft at night (I used to take it in the morning, but then switched since I was groggy taking it then too). Is this normal??? Will this go away?

I feel like my grogginess only intensifies my anxiety/depression. If I wake up feeling like this, I get even more anxious about sleep & more depressed that I can't function properly. My eyes are burning & then want to shut (feels like I haven't slept at all), but a) I can't go back to bed and b) I need to wake up and be a normal functioning person!!!!

HELP! Please!!!! Any advice will be much appreciated Thanks you guys x

I'm really sorry. I have never taken Zoloft so I don't know what to say about whether that is normal or not. Have you spoken with your doctor who prescribed it or pharmacist? They should be able to tell you. Sorry you are going through these problems.
