Anxiety and citalopram

Hi, I'm new to this message board. I am also newly diagnosed with general anxiety (although I think I have been suffering for a while). I was prescribed citolapram and plan to take my first dose tonight. Of course, I am anxious about it. I worry so much about side effects. I was also diagnosed with benign positional vertigo, but I think my anxiety causes the dizzy sensation. Has anyone else experienced a dizzy sensation when anxious and has citalopram helped your anxiety? I'm feeling very optimistic, but am super anxious about side effects

I was also prescribed citalopram 20mg (but I have not yet taken it).. what mg were you given ? I experience dizziness also with my anxiety..

10mg once/day....I'm right now staring at the bottle debating. I hate how anxious I am with Meds. I have starting getting anxious about Tylenol, for crying out loud...a med I have taken so many times. I hate feeling like I am going crazy. This is all so new to me and it is overwhelming

I know exactly how you feel .. I also started being afraid of taking any med even Advil which I have taken thousands of times and even stopped taking my daily Vitamins.. I feel like I am going crazy also, they say its from the anxiety/depression and the meds will help .. most people don't understand how crippling anxiety is .. Its scary how the thing that might help you (the medicine) is the thing that you're most scared of..
