Unhappy From confident to constant worries!!

Hey everyone, I'm 22 male from the UK, I was wondering if people have been feeling the same way as me and can input their experiences and techniques how they cope and handle anxiety,

To start with this spell of anxiety hasn't always been my life I have gone from very confident and straight minded forward talking and fairly popular to the opposite, from that I'm now a complete health freak constantly worrying about what people think of me and this has stemed to me self doubting myself all the time, mainly I doubt my intellect and self worth and my biggest fear is that my memory seems impaired that I can't remember things that I should, also finding it very easy to go off track in conversations and get distracted easy on simple tasks making it real hard for me to interact and allow myself to have fun or motivate myself to want to do these things so iv got a big habit now of isolating myself in my room or making up excuses why I can't see people.

Iv been prescribed Prozac and been on it for about 2 weeks now already find that the side effects weigh heavier than the benefits I'm feeling tierd and slightly more relaxed although my thoughts are still scattered and I feel too tierd to put thoughts into actions, feel like it's not helping my memory which is the main thing that bothers me and iv now started to get sexual dysfunction which adds another worry to the anxiety even more,

Advice would be great and feel free to put your situation maybe combined their could be something that might help us both or anyone reading this.

    Thanks, benjamin x

anxiety is an emotion and can be a symptom of many disorders including an anxiety disorder. It is important you have a comprehensive medical evaluatin first this includes all kinds of tests both physical and psychological. Your main concern is "scattered racing thoughts" this can be an manifestation of anxiety or it can be something else like adhd or add. I highly advise you to seek a professional consult by someone who specializes in this a learning behavioral psychologist for instance. There are meds that can help if this is the case that aren't usually given to anxiety patients. Also it is best to see a specialist who treats anxiety since the subtle tweeks and combinations of meds that may be useful are not typically used by internists or gp docs

It did cross my mind it could be an attention disorder either auditory iv had blood tests done that come back find which is the only tests so far iv had, how would I go about making an appointment with a psychologist? Does it cost?
