Hi there!

TLDR; hi i'm Nick! could i still smoke on a cleanse?

this is going to be a short and crappy introduction thread.. i'm a spur of the moment kinda guy and this is a great example of that! a bit buzzed and a lot tired, i was thinking about some things regarding my immediate future. i've already started eating more naturally and am currently in the process of becoming a healthy person in this world in which it's so hard to do so! i love forums as they are IMO the best resource for information alongside google :P. the thought that brought me here is that i'm planning to do a lemonade cleanse within the next month! (if you are not aware of what this is it's drinking nothing but water/lemonade/maple syrup/cayenne peppers for a minimum of ten days.) i'd assume it's a lot like other cleanses and i was wondering if i could still smoke while i do this? the obvious answer would be no but, i'm trying to eat healthy first, quit smoking after i feel all healthed up! i'm aware that a cleanse is said to reduce your addictive urges but, i KNOW i'm still going to want to smoke, heh. IF you read this whole ramble.. thanks for your time! i'll be returning to browse, post a better intro(if that's a thing here haha) and post some replies if my knowledge allows at a more... here? time. lol. I look forward to joining a forum concerning health as i am gung ho about it and love forums!

-Nick

PS. sorry if this is the wrong section

When you eat a healthy diet with fresh fruit, leafy green and other colorful vegetables, limited whole grains, legumes, nuts and seeds, you are getting lots of anti-oxidants and phytonutrients to keep your system healthy. Without all those healthful anti-oxidants and phytonutrients, I would not recommend that you continue smoking. To continue smoking would be the exact opposite of a cleanse, at least as far as your lungs are concerned. Not sure what you are trying to clean.

Without any fiber, etc., for ten days, you might succeed in cleaning out all the good bacteria in your gut. Good bacteria in you gut is there for a purpose to help with digestion and to help maintain a healthy immune system. Bacteria need to be fed, just like a pet dog or cat. What would happen if you decided not to feed your dog for ten days?

A truly healthy diet is the only cleanse you need. That's what fresh fruit and vegetables are all about, as they give you regular healthy bowel movements and the nutrients to repair and/or build new cells.

The human body has a constant turnover of cells, especially skin and stomach cells that wear out fast. How are they going to rebuild without any building materials from natural whole foods?
