View Full Version : I am afraid ... first hemotologist visit ... help

My husband has been feeling tired and a general sick feeling and terrible headaches for a few months now.. He went to the doctor for a check up and after 2 blood test they have come back with high white blood counts 15.7 and 15.9 his Absolute lymphocytes came back at 10362 the first time and then 10,955 the second test... what can this mean? everything else was in the normal range the doctor is sending him to the heomotologist monday and i am so worried.. what should i even ask? help

Of course you are worried. Just try not to jump to any bad conclusions. A high number like this can (simply) indicate some sort of infection or inflammation.
My advice is to allow the doctor to tell you what they think. Then ask what the treatment is. Ask how long the treatment will take. Ask if there are any side effects from the treatment. If appropriate, ask if it is something contagious. Wishing you both the best, Wendy, come back and let us know how the appointment went.
