View Full Version : Am I being unreasonable? Neuro symptoms

Hello everyone and thanks for taking the time to read this.

I have been having a lot of health issues, seemingly neurologic in nature for 6 years.

1st neurologist I saw sent me to an MS specialist without running tests. The MS specialists did an MRI that showed 8 leasions not typical for MS. My spinal had 4 oligioclonal bands that were only in my spinal fluid and not blood.

The MS specialists says there is something wrong but he doesn't think it's MS and doesn't know what it could be. He sent referrals to mayo clinic and uw who won't see me as they can't offer further treatment. So the MS doctor said to see my PCP.

I am confused because I am suffering and there does seem to be a problem with my brain. Why aren't they doing more tests to figure it out?

I am also seeing a psychiatrist because it has been implied that I am crazy. I am totally down with that, but other than some depression I am pretty good in that area.

Any insite would be awesome. Thank you.

Absolutely NOT unreasonable by any stretch of the imagination.

What exactly are your symptoms and what other testing have you had?

There are many other illnesses/issues that can mimic MS.

Are you seeing a rheumatologist?

Thanks for taking the time to read my post!

It started with profound fatigue that has become constant over the years. Sleep study showed that I constantly move my hands and feet during sleep and hypersomnia during the day.

I get nausea and vertigo on a day to day bases. Needle poke sensations in hands and feet. Numbness to face at times. These odd shooting headpains. I recently had some vision problems and lost part of my peripheral vision but that is better now.

I was seeing a rhuematologist awhile back because my liver enzymes were tweeked out. But that too is better. Thanks again!

I'd go back to the neuro now that the MS doc has signed off.
