Out of desperation, I have made several appointments with appointed suboxone doctors. I started to inquire about the specialty that the MDs carry. I was surprised that several of them are Psychiatrist-MD and not General Practioners or Internal Medicine specialists. My question is whether the Pscyhiatrist is able to monitor your progress with suboxone more effectively than a regular doctor?

Thanks for any information that you may have.

Over IT!

I don't know for a fact but I would think a psyc doctor would be better able to help an addict, simply because I'm sure they know more about the phycological effects of the addiction... which is the hardest to fight.
