View Full Version : All 4 wisdom teeth out tomorrow.....

08-11-2005, 10:11 AM
Hello all,

I'm going to be getting all 4 wisdom teeth removed tomorrow morning 8 am. The lady told me it would take about 2 hrs! Does that sound right? Does it depend on if the teeth are below the gumline, etc? I'm mainly worried about the pain b/c my pain tolerance is not good.

Good luck!! Don't worry the more you stress the more pain you will feel, our minds/bodies are more connected then we know:)
So tonight relax, eat anything you won't be able to eat for a bit and read a good book and relax, let us know how it goes:)

its been 2 days since i had all 4 wisdom teeth out.....i certainly dont wish this on anyone. This bites! my face is soo swollen and hurts so bad. They gave me Tylenol #3(with codeine) to take w/ ibprofen. didnt do much the 1st two days then today i took it once and got sick ALL day. I wasn't going to take anymore but my mouth is killing me big time so i took 2 more w/ibprofen for tonight. tomorrow i will call them to get something else. I hope they come through. Wish me luck!!

Oh Tracy, you poor thing. I know its hard when you are in pain and the only thing that can relieve some of that pain causes you to feel sick on top of it. I discovered that the hard way too.
Just wanted to let you know that I am thinking of you and hope that you are feeling better real soon.

Thanks! I most likely wont be going into work tomorrow again. I work at a call center so do alot of talking which i found makes the pain worse. I do have to make sure to call the oral surgeon tomorrow to get different pain meds though. thanks for thinking of me....it helps. I'm hoping that I'm not getting dry socket....I've heard that is really bad! Thanks for the thought and replies :)

you probably could have asked for stronger meds. tylenol iii is a little wussy for me. just makes me sleepy! anyway you should be through the worst of it!

hang in there!

Hello all,

I called the oral Surgeon and they suggested extra strength tylenol with ibprofen and if pain doesnt go away, then call again. Should I still be having pain from this when I had the surgery 8-12. I tried a heatin pad last night, etc. not much help.

Tracy if you are still in extreme pain its time to go back and have things checked out. My extraction sites didn't hurt after the 4-5 day. And nothing was wrong with my teeth and they were well rooted for 40 years. You shouldn't have be in pain still.

Hope you are feeling much better soon.

Hello all!

Thanks for the replies. I did as they suggested with the extra strength tylenol + ibprofen and that tends to help until it wears off.. I take it every 4 hrs like directed. Last night after work my lower left started hurting again but couldnt take any more stuff b/c it had been less than 3 hrs. The thing is, it's only the lower left. It was hurting so bad it woke me up at 5 am so i took some more tylenol/ibprofen & tried the heating pad which didnt help. Should I call and ask about being seen for the lower left side? I had a feeling I might have a problem with this side b/c the tooh that was right next to the left wisdom tooth removed, I had a filling and it was almost a root canal! The doc said something about that tooth as its all filling. could something have gone wrong with that tooth?

Hah, Extra strength tylenol and Ibprofen... that's a laugh! I am so sick of doctors. You call because of problems (because the tylenol 3 sucks--and it usually does) and they suggest wussier medicine? You should be on oxycodone or hydrocodone. Geesh!

I hope things have finally improved for you.
