View Full Version : mild dysplasia

6 weeks ago I had a lesion removed from my toe. I had the follow up appointment today and the surgeon said it was ok, and that basically the level of worry should be low, and that it was mild dysplasia, and that if i ever see any changes or any other lesion growths or moles that appear to let my doctor know. That's all he said, so I am wondering what exactly is meant by "Mild Dysplasia". Thanks

Dysplastic moles often times resemble the melanoma-looking moles. Irregular borders, variety of colors, but they dont pose a threat to be melanoma. Usually they are "punched" out and the patient is told to watch for color changes to come back in that spot. It's just a mole going freaky with no "freaky stuff" in it. IF that makes sense.

Thanks for the reply. So chances are, it will probably grow back?

Just watch for color and pigmentation...Keep a close eye on it. CHANGE is the key word. Good Luck!
