Hi, I have recently noticed a hair growing out of the smallest mole ever. I have plucked it a couple of times and now its getting coarser and another is coming. How do you get rid of these things? Do you know if its possible to laser them?

We should never pull hairs from a mole, however, I have been guilty in the past. Best to have mole removed by a dermatologist.

the mole is so small that it cant really be seen, and isn't raised, so getting it removed is not really an option. It's just the hair growing from it that distresses me as I don't know what I should do to remove it.

your best bet would be to get electrolysis on it.. it probably wouldn't cost much at all since it's just one hair. You would have to do a search for hair removal in your area and go to a specialist. Laser wouldn't work well for one hair, whereas electrolysis can target that specific hair. I have one or two on my chin I want to get removed...

Even the smallest mole, flat or raised can be seen by a dermatologist by using a special light overhead when examining patients.

Not to hijack the thread...but why shouldn't you pull a hair from a mole?

I never understood that either.. I've done it before.. it just grows back the same. I have one on my face that's the only one that bothers me, but I usually trim the hair instead of pulling it out since there are lighter ones around it that are long as well.

I have heard that all my life, could be an Old Wives Tale. However, it could become infected.

I've heard that too. Beats me as to why though! I have one on the side of my face. Just a small mole. Also not raised. But darned if that thing doesn't grow coarse curly hair about an inch long! Ugh! Problem is it's in such a place that I don't really notice it when I look in the mirror so I often forget about it for lengths on end. When I remember though, I just shave it off.

I've never been one to follow the rules though either. I shave my moustache too. They say you shouldn't or it will grow back thicker, but I figure I'm going to have the stupid thing all my life no matter what and shaving it is a lot less painful!
