Sorry, but I need to vent. I had my gallbladder removed 6 weeks ago and I'm having worsening issues with urgency. The diarrhea comes on so quick and last hours. 3 trips in 15 minutes and all I ate today was yogurt! and that was 10 hours ago! Almost as bad as just hanging out at the bathroom door at work (literally), is the awful achy feeling for hours afterwards. The whole lower half of my body aches and feels almost "itchy". Does this sound familiar to anyone? I've had problems with diverticulits in the past. Does this all sound common to post-gallbladder?

peacefrog,

Some people that have their GB removed -- just put out too much bile and since it is now not controlled by your gallbladder they get explosive diarrhea when the bile reaches the colon.

This is called "Bile Salt diarrhea" and is usually treated by a medication that absorbs the excess bile. It is Colestid and is normally used to treat high cholesterol but a side-effect is constipation for people with their gallbladders.

It is a presciption drug so you will have to get it from your Doctor.

I wish you well---Harry
