I have read that pumpkin is a very healthy food. Although I'm sure most people buy canned pumpkin to make pumpkin pie, thereby adding sugar, saturated fats, white flour etc.. The net result is to cancel-out any potential health benefit.

So I decided to see if I could find ways to eat the all natural pumpkin in ways that would not degrade it. So far I have tried adding a 1/4 cup to my oatmeal in the morning and it works very well.

I don't eat yogurt but if I did, I would try mixing some pumpkin into the yogurt. That would be plain non-fat yogurt of course. ;)

How about a 1/4 to 1/2 cup of pumpkin mixed into a soup? I haven't tried that yet but I will as soon as I get to the store and buy more canned pumpkin.

Any other sugestions on how to use pumpkin?

Your right , Pumpkin is a healthy food. Good for the digestive system too.

i like to add pumpkin to pudding. Also what is really delicious is the instant cheesecake mix with pumpkin added. Any amount of pumpkin added to these mixes to your desire is good.

Just today I made a pumpking soup in my crockpot. Just buy a pumpkin already halved (at least I can always buy it halved at the grocery store) which makes it easy enough to scoop out the seeds and then just chop coarsely. Chop up a sweet potato, and 8-10 hours later, voila! From there, I add cinnamon and ground cloves, and blend. To make it fancy, add a dollop of cream right in the middle of the dish when served.
