Has anyone has success with senokot for constipation, gas and bloating? Can someome recommend other types of fiber therapy that does not cause bloating/gas? Thanks!

I've heard of people doing serious damage to their intestines using Senokot, aka senna. It is a natural plant, yes, but it is not what is considered "fiber". If you must use it, I would only use it occaisionally. It is considered a laxative and NOT fiber therapy. Your colon could become dependent on it. Any other opinions out there? Hope this helps!

Yeah this is not for "routine use" but episodic constipation relief. If at all possible, if one can, increase water soluble fiber like pectin (fruit) fiber...or there are some natural vegetable formulations which can help. But pectin makes a nice gel in the colon. Senna won't detsroy the mucosa with occassional use but I would not make a habit of it or it will make a habit of itself.
