View Full Version : ativan vs valium (for nerve pain)

Drs. look at you askew if you even mention valium. I think people were taking way too much in the '80's. Case in point: my neurologist is treating me like a drug seeker for even asking for valium (which my friend has been giving me; 10mg a day for 4 days,then off). This is the FIRST thing that's helped with nerve pain in my face, I've had since August. It is so debilitating, I feel like my skull is being crushed, and can't even get up some days.

So my question is, should I ask my Dr. for Ativan? 1mg of Ativan can't be as strong as 10mg of Valium, can it? I don't think Ativan is a "party drug" the way Val's used to be.
