View Full Version : Ongoing Enlarged and Painful Lymph Nodes

Well, the truth is I get things in my head a lot. I've had some troubling "symptoms" to me, but really I'm not sure if there's any connection or cause for concern. Basically, for several months now several lymph nodes have been swollen or enlarged throughout my body. The first to be enlarged was right above my left collar bone. A few years back, it swelled up to the point where I couldn't turn my head without being gripped with pain, but as I was on a lengthy vacation, I didn't go to the doctor and it slowly shrunk down to a smaller but still enlarged size. It's been that way ever since. A few months ago, a node on the right side of my neck enlarged significantly, as well as one in my right hip. At the hight of these "flare ups", all three of these locations as well as a lump in the bottom of my right breast (I'm guessing another node) significantly burned and ached with pains. However a week later, the pain subsided, leaving the enlarged lymph nodes still swollen up. Sometimes moving certain ways will cause the nodes in my neck and collar bone to hurt, but the pain dies down relatively quickly. Could all of this just be something like minor infections or something? Some times are worse than others, today particularly bad as the right side of my neck burns and aches into my shoulder. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

The only sound advice anyone could possibly give you is to get yourself to a doctor. The node above the collarbone should be looked at thoroughly and if it is an infection you're risking your entire health letting it drag on.

Whilst you have lymph nodes spread throughout your entire body, which means they can theoretically pop up anywhere, the one under your breast isn't a common site for an enlargement.
