Hi everyone. Sorry if this is the wrong board to post this, but I wasn't sure which would be better. I don't have a follow-up appointment for another month, so I'm hoping someone can shed some light on my recent lab results.

I am a 28-year-old, non-overweight female without diabetes or other known health problems (besides mild, asymptomatic MVP). I don't smoke. However, I have been taking hormonal birth control (estrogen + progestin) for the past 10 years, and I am lactose intolerant, in case either of those make a difference.

- hsCRP 9.5 mg/L (!!), up from 4.4 mg/L in April, 2012
- CBC is normal
- cholesterol panel is normal (total cholesterol 198 mg/dL, LDL 97 mg/dL, HDL 100 mg/dL)
- thyroid panel (TSH, T4, T3, and free T4) is normal, except for slightly low T3 uptake (23.8%, range is 24.3-39%)

I know birth control pills can make the hsCRP go up, but that high? And why is it still increasing? I haven't changed or increased my pill since years ago. I have no idea what this lab result means, other than that I apparently have inflammation of some sort. Thanks!

My CRP level came back at above 30mg/L and I have felt fatigued for years (I'm your age too) but I read that high CRPs can be from autoimmune diseases, in my case its probably from having psoriasis, but I also had mono about 2 years ago... if you find out let me know!
