Thumbs down Should i get my plates removed?

I had a fall a year and a half ago and I had to undergo surgery on my left elbow. I had two plates put into my arm and some screws. 6 months ago I fell over on that elbow and ever since the bones have been grinding, locking up, clicking and causing aches. Should I get the plates removed or just put up with it?

Have you seen an ortho to get checked out since your fall? They really could help guide you in your decision. You need to make sure you didn't don't have any other injury you aren't aware of.

In some cases, getting the plates removed is the right choice. I had a plate in my wrist and continued to have pain. Turns out the plate had come loose. After I had it removed, I healed up quickly. The surgery and healing afterwards were much easier than the original surgery and healing.
