    wondering

    Any help will be appreciated.

Got a tick bite in late May'15. Did not realize it then. Had joint pain all over for 3 weeks and went to the Dr. Blood results for lyme came negative but dr gave 4 weeks of doxycycline 100 mg twice daily but now 5 weeks later the pain is still there and nerve pain in arm, nerve pain at the back of the knee is causing me to wake up at night due to pain. Also having night sweats and waking up.

Blood test results are still negative for lyme. Will a LLMD still treat me?

    Re: wondering

Yes, an LLMD will see you and that is definitely who you should be seeing. Lyme is diagnosed first by clinical symptoms, tests only secondarily because of so many "false negatives". Many people with legitimate lyme do not test "positive" (according to CDC) or at least not right away. Was your blood sent to Igenex Lab in Palo Alto, CA? This is where it should have been sent. One month of Doxy is not nearly enough. You need ongoing treatment and different abx to reach the different stages of the infection. You also need to be tested for all the co-infections of LD. Anyone other than a lyme disease specialist (LLMD) will not be able to help you with this.

I hope you can find the help you need soon.

    Re: wondering

I see you are from NJ. There are LLMDs there as well as in neighboring states: CT, PA, NYC.

    Best,

    Tess
