    DeQuervain's?

    Hi,

I had deQuervain's release in my left wrist 3 years ago. Over the last few weeks, I've had pain on the back side of my hand from the thumb to wrist area. It seems like a similar pain. I know some joint hypermobility is a factor. I do know I have some sort of inflammation. Has anyone else had deQuervain's surgery and had the pain return? If so, what did you do?

Back in a brace again. Yes, the DeQuervains is back. Technically 'wrist tendonosis'. Gotta get the inflammation under control again.

    Re: DeQuervain's?

Wow, sorry to hear that. I was just told I have this condition. I have it in both wrists. So hand doctor gave me a cortisone shot in both yesterday. Boy it hurt like hell after that. My question for you is how long did you have your issue before the surgery? Did they tell you it may come back? Did you ever get cortisone shots? I am hearing cortisone is a temporary fix for some. Geez the doctor made it sound like it should fix it, if not return to office. I wonder if any other options out there for people with our condition. I sure would not want surgery down the road, if it was going to return. Hope you are feeling better. I too wearing brace on both, I take turns.
