    tfcc tear - conservative treatment

    Hi

I'm interested in knowing how many people with TFCC tears get better through conservative treatment as opposed to needing surgery.

I am in a rigid splint at the moment (1 week into 6 weeks treatment) which I've been told to wear 24 hours a day apart from some light physio activities.

MRI scan showed two tears - one on the ulna side which I think is either degenerative or related to an injury 10 years ago and one on the radial side which I think is new (felt it tear about a month ago).

It's taken about 4 years to get a diagnosis and I also have pisotriquetral arthritis to complicate matters.

    Thanks

I waited a few years and several casts later, long and short, and my last resort was surgery, but it doesn't feel any different after, I believe I retore it three months after surg.

Quick update on this. I've now been wearing the splint for 5 weeks with no real improvement. It still hurts when I do any light exercises, so I've now been told to hold off them for the next two weeks (still wearing the splint all the time).

Not sure what the plan is after that.
