LRTI surgery, worried I messed it up

    Hi,
I'm 5 weeks post op from LRTI surgery. My surgeon gave me a removable cast after 2 weeks. I was doing well until yesterday. With the cast on, I picked up a towel and pulled on the fingers. About an hour later, my hand swelled up and although I've been icing and elevating, the swelling is still there.

Is this common...to make progress and then get worse? I'm very afraid I may have pulled out the surgery but I can't find anything online that indicates how I would know if this happened. My fingers are also slightly numb now and they weren't yesterday. I'm not having much pain...just swelling and things now feel weird when they didn't before.

Can anyone share if this has happened or if your surgery failed, what are the signs and symptoms?

    Thank you!
