    Thumb sprain

Recently I got in the habit of cracking the knuckle on my thumb by bending it down in a normal fashion. I didn't think moving a thumb like it is supposed to move could cause damage but it did. Now it hurts. I am guessing it is a sprain. I don't think I need to see a doctor at this point. Or do I?

I bought a thumb stabilizer. Is it necessary to wear it 24/7 or can I remove it to take a shower?

    Does anyone have other advice?
